Little Abner
by Al Capp and Frank Frazetta
Most fans are aware that Frank Frazetta labored for many years as Al Capp's assistant. Until now, though, few have actually seen those strips. These excellent books from Dark Horse fix that problem. What an eye-opener! Frazetta's unique talents made quite an impact on Li'l Abner, especially in the first few years when he often inked his own work. Standing out above everything else are the sumptuous Frazetta women, who raised the strip's temperature fifty degrees just by sitting there!
Each hardbound, full-color book (excellently-reproduced from printed Sundays) includes in-depth notes by Denis Kitchen explaining the strip's references to then-current events and personalities. This makes them a treat to read if you should tire of looking at the pictures. Four volumes are available.
9-1/2 x 12-1/2 inches, hardbound, 130 pages, full color throughout.
Volumes 1 through 4 $18.95 each.
