Mary Perkins: On Stage
by Leonard Starr
After starting in the famous Will Eisner shop, Leonard Starr quickly developed into a first-rate artist. A stint in advertising further honed his skills in both drawing and writing. By 1957, Starr was ready to launch one of the last and greatest of the "realistic style" comic strips: On Stage, a combination of adventure strip and soap opera with interesting characters, intriguing stories, and a sense of atmosphere few strips achieved.
Classic Comics Press is releasing a series of handsome reprints of this classic strip. Each volume covers approximately one year of continuity, with splendidly-reproduced dailies and Sundays in black and white. If you're not familiar with On Stage, you're in for a treat!
Seven volumes are now in stock. Each 11" x 8-1/2" 196-page book features a brand-new color cover by Starr. Softbound.
